So naturally, when Acura announced that its first-ever all-new full-electric SUV is coming to market in 2024, we at Maple Acura were not surprised. Acura's commitment to performance in the electrically powered era will launch with the Acura ZDX. And as the brand continues to focus on driver experience first, a ZDX Type S variant will also be made available.

What We Know About The Upcoming 2024 Acura ZDX

The 2024 Acura ZDX will be the first production model to showcase many of the new Acura styling themes and design direction. This was presented during Monterey Car Week in the way of the Acura Precision EV Concept.

The 2024 ZDX is being co-created with GM employing the highly versatile global EV platform powered by Ultium batteries. Acura will launch further EV models beginning 2026 based on the business's global e:Architecture.

James Marchand, Assistant Vice President of Acura Canada, said, 

"Our accelerated path towards electrification begins today with the all-new ZDX, the Acura brand will play a key role in our overall corporate strategy to achieve 100-percent carbon neutrality by 2050 with more fully electric Acura models being introduced in the years to come".

Acura Model of The Same Name

The 2024 Acura ZDX will be Acura's first zero-emission SUV, and its' name pays tribute to a past Acura model of the same name, which was the original car styled from the ground up in the Acura Design Studio that opened in Los Angeles in 2007. This new Acura ZDX SUV is now being styled in the same Acura Design Studio, promising to give us all the Acura accents and touches we love plus more.
